Matched

I am reading Matched by Ally Condie. This book is about a girl named Cassia and her family;  mother, father, and little brother Bram. So far in the book Cassia has been matched with her friend Xander. People are never matched with someone they know. This hasn’t happened in about 100 years. Matching is when the society chooses who you will marry. The Society, or government, in this book makes all decisions for you; the music you listen too, books you read, your job, and even the food you eat! Cassia is brave because she hides a poem that she shouldn’t have. It’s not one of the 100 poems that are allowed.

Cassia’s grandpa died and it all went downhill from there. Her father did something bad for the grandpa and the dad lied to the mom about what happened. He told her  it was an “accident”. Then Cassisa got a micro card to look at all the facts about Xander. But when she looks at the card she briefly sees  someone else’s face. His name is Ky, another boy from Cassia’s school, but then her screen  glitched back to Xander. How could this happen? Matches are supposed to be perfect. Could they have gotten it wrong? The matching department said somebody did this, not the society. The matching department said Xander is still her match.

My opinion of the book is that it is amazing. I love this book because I liked the book Divergent and this one is very similar. Yes I would recommend it to everyone this book is kind of like Divergent because people are separated and controlled by the government. So if you like Divergent you would like this book.

  3. I LOVE your description the way you said how Cassia was Matched with someone she knows and how it hasn't hapend in 100 years. This review was like I am reading a more advanced summary for the back of the book. The way the Microcard gliched is the part that brought me back to the mystery. In conclusion this makes me want to read this book again.

  7. This book sounds so good. I love how you had details about what the government does for you. I've heard about this book before and I knew the government chose who you married but I didn't know the government chose what food you ate and what music you listened to. Great job!
